In an article by the New York Times about Syrian Rebels, the point is stressed that we need to be more involved in the middle east and in a more general sense, abroad.
According to the article, the Syrians are having to rely on their own strengths to defend their country and grow impatient waiting on U.S. involvement.
I agree with the point that our uninvolvement is pushing them to fight for themselves, but i dont agree that we should form an alliance with every broken country and name ourselves savior of the planet, lest we too become a bankrupt and war-torn society depending on another nation for our protection.
Help out when we can afford to, but lay back when we owe 16+ trillion ourselves,
focus on America first.
